Tarhan Erdem

Personal Life:

Tarhan Erdem was born in 1933 in Kurucaşile. He went to primary school in Bartın, secondary school and high school in Yozgat and Kayseri. In 1959 he received his BA degree in Civil Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (ITU). He is married and has two children.

Professional Life:

Between 1959 and 1995 he worked as control engineer, chief of control, project engineer, general president, coordinator, general coordinator in the Turkish Sugar Factories, MSB Infrastructure Facilities, Turkish Glass and Bottle Company, Milliyet Newspaper and Doğan Group of Companies.

Political Life:

He became a member of the Republican Party (CHP) from the area of Beyoğlu in 1953. He was selected as board member at the municipal, provincial and national levels. He was elected as PM from the constituency of Istanbul in 1977. In June 1997 he was appointed as the Industry and Technology Minister at the Ecevit government which could not receive vote of confidence. Tarhan Erdem was the general president of CHP between 1999 and 2000.

Social Life:

He was a board member in student unions and chambers of business, and chairman of Turkish Revolutionary Houses (Türk Devrim Ocakları) between 1966 and 1967.

Publications:

Tarhan Erdem has numerous books published in Turkish about electoral systems, and elections and politics in Turkey. These include; Halkevleri, Nisbi Temsil Nedir?, 80’leri Karşılarken, Anayasa ve Seçim Kanunları, İstanbul 1969 İl Kongresi Tutanağı, Üye Kayıtlarının Birleştirilmesi (1978), Tıkanan Siyaset (2002), Kapana Sıkışanlar, Oy Aldılar Seçilemediler, Anayasalar ve Siyasal Belgeler (1876-2012), and Yasama Meclisi Üyeleri Seçim Kanunları ve Siyasi Partiler Kanunları (1876-2013).

Between 1995 and 2016, he also worked as columnist in various newspapers such as Bizim Gazete, Dünya and Radikal. His articles are also currently being published on T24 internet newspaper.

Bekir Ağırdır

Bekir Ağırdır was born in Çal, Denizli in 1956. He graduated from the department of Business Administration at the Middle East Technical University. He worked as manager at several industrial companies between 1979 and 2003. He worked at History Foundation of Turkey, first as coordinator, then as director general between 2003 and 2005. He is a founder of the Democratic Republican Programme, a board member of Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV).

Bekir Ağırdır acted as director between 2005 and 2022 and is still serving as board member of KONDA Research and Consultancy Company.

Yasemin Güney Ağırdır

Yasemin Güney Ağırdır was born in 1971 in Istanbul. She graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Literature and History in 1991. She worked at the History Foundation of Turkey at different levels between 1995 and 2006: as projects officer, member relationships/ “Friends of History” coordinator and Yurt Publications sales coordinator.

She has been working as Field Coordinator at KONDA since March 2006.

Aydın Erdem

Aydın Erdem was born in 1972 in Istanbul. He graduated from Istanbul Saint Joseph High School in 1991. He received his BA degree in architecture in 1995 from the Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Faculty of Architecture. He also holds an MA degree in cinema and TV journalism from the American University in Washington D.C. After working as freelance producer in the United States for a while, he was back in Turkey in 2000 and worked at various TV channels such as NTV, CNNturk and Kanal 1, and the ANS production company as editor and program director.

As of 2022, he assumed the position of general manager at Konda Research and Consultancy where he has been working since 2008.

Ali Karakaş

He was born in 1986 in Zile/Tokat. He studied at Zile Anatolian High School, Samsun Ondokuzmayıs University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Veterinary Medicine, Ondokuzmayıs University, Department of Economics and Economics and Anadolu University, Department of Sociology. Between 2009 and 2010, he served as a board member of the Community Volunteers Foundation. He is currently serving as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at TOG.

Ali currently works as a field manager at Konda Research, where he started working in 2011.

Erman Bakırcı

Erman Bakırcı was born in Istanbul in 1984. Following his graduation from Kadıkoy Anadolu High School in 2003, he received his BA degree in International Relations at Istanbul Bilgi University. In 2013 he received his MA degree at the Middle East Technical University (METU) Sociology department. He is currently a PhD student at Marmara University Political and Social Sciences department.

Erman Bakırcı has been working in KONDA since January 2013.

Ebru Şener

Ebru Şener was born in Istanbul in 1981. She graduated from the Galatasaray High School in 2000. She completed her BA degree at the City and Regional Planning department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Between 2008 and 2010 she worked in the “Istanbul 1910-2010 City, Built Environment and Architectural Culture Exhibition” project at İstanbul Bilgi University. She was a researcher at the Kadir Has University City Research Center.

Ebru Şener has been working in KONDA since September 2015.

Ayşe Gülen Eyi

Ayşe Gülen Eyi was born in İstanbul, in 1994. She graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Turkish Language and Literature in 2018. Her critiques have published in various magazines and newspapers between 2012-2021.

Ayşe Gülen Eyi has been working in KONDA since January 2019.

Halil İbrahim Kılıç

Halil İbrahim Kılıç was born in Balıkesir in 1995. He received his BA degree in Political Science and Public Administration at Uludağ University in 2016. He received his MA degree in Sociology from the Marmara University in 2019. He is currently a PhD candidate in the department of Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul University Faculty of Political Science.

Halil İbrahim Kılıç has been working in KONDA since January 2022.
