How Do We Work?

Research Methodologies

Face-to-face field research forms the foundation of KONDA’s research approach. Drawing on more than 30 years of experience and hundreds of thousands of interviews, we redesign each project from the ground up and approach the field as a dynamic, living process.

All stages of the research process are carried out by our own teams, without outsourcing at any stage. This enables us to maintain full control over data quality from beginning to end.

  • Sample Design: We build highly representative samples tailored to the objectives of each study.
  • Questionnaire Development: We refine research questions through conceptual framing, preliminary research, and pilot studies.
  • Field Organization: We plan and manage field operations through our trained research teams.
  • Sampling Fidelity: We prioritize complete adherence to the designated sampling framework.
  • Speed: We complete fieldwork within the shortest possible timeframe.
  • Quality Control: Through multi-layered control mechanisms, we ensure data reliability throughout the entire research process.

KONDA considers face-to-face interviewing an indispensable methodology, particularly in social and political research. Because meaningful insight begins with meaningful contact.

At KONDA, we see focus groups not merely as a tool for gathering opinions, but as a way to explore social meaning systems, underlying motivations, and perceptual frameworks.

  • Reveal the underlying reasons behind participants’ perceptions and attitudes.
  • Observe and compare different perspectives within the same environment.
  • Deepen insights that cannot be fully explained through quantitative data.
  • Develop new hypotheses and research directions.

Focus group sessions are conducted by experienced moderators within a structured yet flexible framework. This approach preserves the natural interaction among participants while ensuring the systematic generation of research-oriented insights.

We use this methodology either to further explore areas identified through quantitative research or to generate deeper insights as a standalone qualitative approach.

  • Interview Design: We develop a research flow and question set tailored to the objectives of the study.
  • Participant Selection: We work with individuals who match the targeted demographic and sociological profiles.
  • Natural Setting: Interviews are generally conducted within participants’ own environments to ensure a more authentic interaction.
  • Deep Analysis: We uncover the meanings, motivations, and reasoning underlying participants’ responses.

This methodology allows us to understand audiences not merely as numbers, but as individuals.

Similarity-Based Clustering: We analyze approximately 50,000 neighborhoods across Türkiye using demographic structure and socio-economic status indicators, creating neighborhood groupings (typologies) based on similarity patterns.

Lifestyle Integration: These neighborhood typologies are then matched with KONDA’s "Lifestyle" micro-datasets accumulated over many years. This enables us to model with scientific precision the concentration of segments such as "Modern Conservatives" or "Anxious Moderns" across different neighborhood typologies.

Conducted through a large and voluntary participant pool, this model enables fast and flexible data collection while maintaining representativeness.

  • Conduct repeated measurements with the same participants
  • Track changes over time
  • Dynamically analyze social trends and tendencies

The Assisted Panel can be implemented through different modes of interaction depending on the needs of the research. Within this framework, both face-to-face and online data collection processes may be used either independently or in combination.

The Online Panel represents the digital extension of the Assisted Panel methodology. It provides an effective solution particularly for studies requiring speed, accessibility, and operational flexibility.

The sampling structure, quality control mechanisms, and data security standards of the Assisted Panel are built on the same principles that underpin KONDA’s face-to-face field research methodology.

Persona structures derived from this accumulated knowledge have been transformed into AI-supported virtual participants capable of interacting with one another within a dynamic digital environment.

Within this system, brands, products, or scenarios related to the research topic are integrated into the simulation, allowing the possible reactions, reasoning patterns, and discussion dynamics of different social profiles to be explored. In this way, an interaction environment resembling a real focus group is digitally recreated.

  • Produces insights significantly faster than conventional focus group studies
  • Offers a cost-efficient and scalable alternative
  • Makes intellectual and social divergences between different audience profiles visible
  • Generates more "pure" reasoning models independent of emotional group dynamics

This methodology is particularly positioned as a powerful pre-analysis tool for early-stage idea testing, concept development, and scenario evaluation.

By analyzing the KONDA Data Warehouse (built on our own research) alongside publicly available datasets and institutional data, we uncover hidden patterns and relationships that would otherwise remain invisible.

  • Integrate data from multiple sources
  • Analyze large-scale datasets
  • Identify meaningful relationships and emerging trends
  • Transform data into decision-support tools

We do more than simply analyze data; we structure and visualize it in ways that make it understandable, accessible, and effective. Because insight only creates value when it can be clearly communicated.
